Food and Nutrition: Gluten Free Apple Rhubarb Cake
I have been cooking since I was 9 years old and each year I try to increase my knowledge by trying new techniques, ingredients and flavor profiles. This year, I learned about different kinds of sweetening agents and experimented with baking with them.
Horticulture: Blueberry Project
It is notoriously difficult to have a garden in Laramie because of the climate and soil conditions. I wanted to see if I could find a blueberry variety that could grow here. I partnered with Trish Penny of the Laramie River Conservation District to create an experimental area in the Community Garden at LaBonte Park where we could experiment with blueberries. Thus far, we have been unsuccessful.
Photography
One of the best parts of County Fair is having my photographs evaluated. I enjoy talking about my process and getting suggestions for how to improve my work. All of the photos taken on my website were taken either by me or my mother.
